1) These glazes are applied to Tom Coleman's Porcelain (which has more silica in it then other porcelain bodies). It melts with the glaze while being fired. It has a "white canvas" so the color of the glaze is true to it's color. 2) BMix is going to give you a different result. BMix is Grey in color. It will change the final result of the color of your glaze. 3) We bisque Tom's Porcelain to cone 010. This way, the body is more porous and will absorb the glaze. Also, the body and the glaze Melt Together. It's a good fit for functional ware. 4) READ ALL THE INFORMATION I PROVIDE FOR EACH GLAZE. I provide all of the directions for you. Mixing Directions, application, and firing directions. 5) The worst advice in Ceramics is the clay companies telling people to bisque their work to cone 04. Porcelain: Bisque to Cone 010. It's clean. No impurities. Bisque it lower. Put the little bit of extra money into the porcelain body and then save money on the bisque temperature. Bmix: Bisque to Cone 08 - Cone 06. It's a little dirtier and made with cheap materials. You get what you pay for. Period. Stoneware: Bisque to Cone 04 (lots of organic materials and impurities that have to be "gassed out" before applying a glaze. This is where the clay suppliers started and ended their knowledge. From the Stone Age. Lol. 6) The second worst advice in Ceramics is not disclosing that the clay body the glaze is applied to, (and the temperature the clay body was bisque fired to) all make a difference as to how your results will come out of the kiln.
